Abstract

Analysis of the locations of coordinates of high-altitude ring lights (elves) registered on the International Space Station within the UV Atmosphere international program in 2019–2022 has been performed. Most elves are registered in the equatorial region of Earth, which may be a consequence of the ISS orbit passing through the equator, as well as the presence of a large number of thunderstorms in these areas. The analysis showed that the coordinates of the 37 registered elves are mostly located along the boundaries of Earth’s tectonic plates.
