Estimating the Technical Condition of Electrical Equipment in Mobile Robotic Systems Using the Fuzzy Classification

Modern mobile robotic systems involve complex electrical equipment, which causes more than half of the failures resulted from degradation processes. To ensure the restoration of the systems’ operability, it is necessary to develop a new maintenance and repair system. An approach to estimating various gradations of the technical condition of electrical equipment of mobile robotic systems using a fuzzy classification is discussed. It is proposed to integrate elements of the proactive concept into the available scheduled preventive maintenance and repair system, which suggests continuous monitoring of the technical condition according to a generalized parameter to determine the moment of occurrence of a potential failure condition. A fuzzy inference is used to solve this problem. The need for repair effects is confirmed by the probabilistic estimation of the current class of the technical condition.
