Abstract <p>We treat the problem of data units distribution in data storage arrays based on the declustered Redundant Array of Independent Disks (RAID) technique. Optimal, with respect to balanced read-write load on disks in the process of reconstruction of the failed disk, solution to the problem is provided by the suitable circulant matrix. The relationship with the graph coloring problem is also established.</p>

Abstract
