Abstract

In this article, we present the results of further development of the modified Monte Carlo Glauber model [1, 2] for collisions of relativistic nuclei. In successive inelastic nucleon–nucleon collisions, the energy losses due to the processes of multiple particle production, as well as the corresponding decrease in the cross section for inelastic nucleon collisions are effectively included. The use of this approach, with the identification of inelastic processes with different numbers of binary collisions in nucleus–nucleus interactions, allows us to highlight and analyze the observed scaling of the total yield of charged particles with the number of participating nucleons at NICA, SPS and RHIC energies, and deviations from the scaling at the LHC energies.
