DSLab FaaS: Fast and Accurate Simulation of FaaS Clouds

Resource management in cloud computing, including FaaS, is an active area of research. Developing resource management methods requires thorough evaluation, as poor decisions may result in huge financial losses. However, running large-scale experiments on a real platform is time-consuming and expensive. Therefore research in this area requires a performant and accurate simulation framework. In this paper, we present a modular FaaS simulation framework, called DSLab FaaS. Applicability of DSLab FaaS to real research is shown by reproducing two research papers. Performance is verified by benchmarking against other FaaS simulators.
