Parallel Modeling of Elastic Wave Propagation, with Explicit Pore Delineation Using Overset Grids Method

Abstract
This study is dedicated to the modeling of elastic wave propagation in a heterogeneous geological environment with explicit consideration of heterogeneities. To implement this approach, a distributed memory computational environment was used, and the features of the proposed modeling method were described, including the use of the overset grid approach for explicit accounting heterogeneities such as pores. The results of the study demonstrated that the use of this computational scheme significantly accelerates the process of modeling elastic wave propagation in heterogeneous environments.
