Abstract <p>The Cherenkov water detector (CWD) of the TAIGA-100 project, which is currently under development, is a cylindrical concrete tank buried in the ground and filled with ultrapure water. The inner surface of the water volume is a light-insulated “bag” with a high coefficient of diffuse reflection. The water tank is located under a thick layer of soil to absorb the EAS electron-photon and hadron components. A photomultiplier with a hemispherical photocathode is located in the upper part of the detector. To study the CWD characteristics, its model was developed in the Geant4 software package, and particle registration in the CWD was simulated.</p>
