Abstract <p>In this paper, we report the successful synthesis of cobalt oxide solar cell and characterized a high-efficiency cobalt oxide (Co<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub>) solar cell. The solar cell was constructed using the spin coating technique with a power conversion efficiency of 18.71% under 1-sun illumination (100 mW/cm<sup>2</sup>), with an open-circuit voltage (<i>V</i><sub>oc</sub>) of 0.544 V and a short-circuit current density (<i>J</i><sub>sc</sub>) of 151.21 mA/cm<sup>2</sup>. These results highlight the potential of using readily available materials and simple deposition techniques to achieve efficient Co<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub>-based solar cells.</p>
