Influence of Severe Plastic Deformation on Magnetic Properties of Holmium and Erbium
摘要
Abstract—
In this work we report on structural and magnetic properties of Ho and Er samples severely deformed by means of high-pressure torsion. It was found that severe plastic deformation results in the formation of an ultrafine-grained structure and broadening of diffraction peaks due to the accumulation of crystal lattice defects. Magnetic measurements revealed that severe plastic deformation leads to an increase in the saturation magnetic field in holmium and the disappearance of a metamagnetic transition in erbium.
