The History of the Stock Status and Fishery Management for the Red King Crab Paralithodes camtschaticus in Waters of Primorye
摘要
Abstract
The development of the red king crab (Paralithodes camtschaticus) fishery in waters of southern Primorye is analyzed, the harvesting and catch processing methods are characterized, and the causes of recurrent reduction in the aggregation density and abundance are considered. The dynamics and duration of the crab fishery between the periods when it was banned, from the early 20th century until the present time, are shown. Special attention is paid to the dramatic situation where the crab fishery was periodically closed due to commercial stock depletion.
