Abstract <p>This study presents new data on the size and age classes and the rates of linear growth and sexual maturation of individuals of the barfin flounder <i>Verasper moseri</i> Jordan &amp; Gilbert, 1898 (Actinopherygii: Pleuronectidae) captured in May–June 2021–2024 in the coastal waters of Kunashir Island. The possible causes of the increased frequency of captures of this species near the southern Kuril Islands are discussed.</p>
