Magnetic Undulator in the Form of a Uniformly Magnetized Profiled Magnetic Strip for a Free-Electron Laser

Abstract
We proposes a design principle for a magnetic undulator using a magnetic film material—a long strip with a sinusoidal profile. The magnetic field of such a structure is calculated in three dimensions. The amplitude curves of the magnetic field strength are presented as a function of the profile period. The radiation emitted by a relativistic electron passing through the undulator’s magnetic field is estimated.
