Abstract—

Decontamination of primary circuit equipment of nuclear reactors is a pressing challenge for nuclear power industry, but the radiochemical methods used today lead to the accumulation of large volumes of liquid radioactive waste. The proposed “dry” ion-plasma technology removes of surface radioactive deposits through ion bombardment and thermal heating in a “shortened” plasma discharge in an inert gas.
