Dynamics of Field-Aligned Currents in Two Hemispheres in the Spring Interval of Stationary Convection
摘要
Abstract
The magnetogram inversion technique was applied to the onground data of the SuperMAG project to examine the distribution dynamics of field-aligned currents (FACs) in the ionosphere of both hemispheres during an interval of stationary magnetospheric convection at IMF BY < 0. It was shown that in the absence of explosive processes, a quadrant asymmetry in the FAC distribution occurs. During substorms, FACs predominated in the dawn sector in both hemispheres. Enhancement in both electrojets is accompanied by PiB pulsations.
