Enhancement of the Electromagnetic Field in a Fabry–Pérot Cavity with Circular Coupling Holes in the Cavity Walls

Abstract
Fabry–Pérot cavities with thick metal walls are numerically modeled. Enhancement of the electromagnetic field is considered for a wave incident perpendicular to the walls. The field enhancements are compared for cavities with coupling holes of different shapes. The field enhancement in a cavity with the partially filled space between the plates is also examined.
