Abstract

It is known that the width modes in a nanometer-thick ferrite-based magnonic crystal can split into two types: fundamental and additional. The authors study the effect the ridge-to-groove width ratio has on the energy interaction between modes, their dispersion characteristics, and the formation of band gaps. Universal ridge/groove parameters are established for engineering thin magnonic crystals with desired properties.
