Abstract <p>Electron paramagnetic resonance in the X and W bands is used to study mechanically activated calcium gluconate. The W-band spectrum is multicomponent and is described by contributions from two types of radicals with different <i>g</i>-factors: carbon radicals of δ-gluconolactone and the (Ca–OC<sub>6</sub>H<sub>11</sub>O<sub>6</sub>)*δ-GL radical. The parameters of these spectra, obtained through quantum chemical calculations, are in good agreement with experimental ones.</p>
