Abstract <p>A brief overview is presented of the results and methods for conducting radiobiological experiments to study the patterns of flash effect at the linear proton accelerator of the Institute for Nuclear Research, Russian Academy of Sciences, Moscow, Russia. An increase in apoptosis of tumor cells compared to normal cells was found when the dose rate was increased to extreme values.</p>
