Abstract <p>Results are presented from modeling background events in the Large Volume Detector (LVD) at the Gran Sasso Laboratory in Italy. Events are caused by the natural radioactivity of the rock and materials of the detector’s design. Contributions to the overall background of events from different sources are calculated and compared with experimental data.</p>
