Features of Hyperonic Interactions in Neutron Stars

Abstract
Skyrme NN, ΛN, and ΛΛ potentials are used to study the interplay between the properties of hyperonic interactions and the characteristics of neutron stars. It is shown that ΛN potentials with different density dependences that describe Λ hypernuclear spectra equally well produce substantially different dependences of a neutron star’s mass on its radius. The role of the nucleon density dependence of ΛΛ potential is considered within the Skyrme formalism for the first time.
