Abstract <p>One of the simplest ways of obtaining non-Gaussian states of light is to pass Gaussian states through a nonlinear medium. This work studies the self-regulation of coherent states in a Kerr nonlinear Hamiltonian in terms of the quasi-probability Wigner function for a large average number of quanta.</p>
