Dynamics of the Parameters of Pulses Propagating in a Medium with Anomalous Group Velocity Dispersion

Abstract
The so-called method of moments is used to obtain a system of equations for the parameters of a pulse propagating in an isotropic medium with dispersion in the form of a Duhamel integral. A criterion is found for the parameters of the pulse and the medium separating the modes of propagation of soliton-like pulses.
