Estimation of the Accuracy of Determining the Number of Spectator Nucleons from the Energy Measured in a Calorimeter in A + A Collisions
摘要
Abstract
A method based on Bayes’ formula was used to estimate the relative error in determining the number of spectator nucleons from the energy measured in a calorimeter during the collision of relativistic nuclei. The minimum possible relative error in determining the number of spectator nucleons in an event is obtained for an arbitrary distribution of spectators.
