Effect of the Extragalactic Magnetic Field on Cascade Gamma-Ray Emissions
摘要
Abstract
The author considers the intensity of diffuse cascade gamma-ray emissions produced in electromagnetic cascades when ultra-high-energy cosmic rays propagate in extragalactic space. It is found that diffuse cascade gamma-ray spectra depend weakly on the extragalactic magnetic field in the ~107–109 eV range of energies. There is thus no need to refine models of the extragalactic magnetic field to estimate the intensity of cascade emissions in this range of energies.
