Impact of Electron Spin Resonance on Longitudinal Resistance in the Quantum Hall Mode

摘要

Abstract

The author considers the impact electron spin resonance has on longitudinal resistance in the quantum Hall mode near integer filling factors. Extra spin excitons are created for odd filling factors in the process of microwave absorption, and resistance grows because of the effective rise in temperature. The increased resistance at odd filling factors is due to an effective rise in temperature upon absorption with the formation of additional spin excitons. At non-zero temperatures and for even filling factors, absorption results in existing combined spin-flip excitations transforming into short-lived ones higher in energy, depending on the spin polarization of the system. This is equivalent to a drop in the effective temperature.
