Daily and Seasonal Activity of Testudo graeca (Testudinidae, Reptilia) in the Northeastern Caucasus (Dagestan, Russia)

Abstract
Data on the thermobiology and daily activity of the Mediterranean tortoise Testudo graeca (Linnaeus 1758) in the Northeastern Caucasus are presented. The forms of daily activity with characteristics of body temperatures, external environment, and thermoregulatory behavior are described. The primary and secondary thermoneutral behavior corresponds to morning and evening activity.
