Abstract

During an extensive and regular survey conducted in the less-explored coniferous forests of Jammu, India, some interesting specimens of boletoid mushrooms were collected. Thorough morphological characterisation followed by two-gene molecular phylogenetic analyses of two specimens, revealed two interesting species: Rubroboletus himalayensis and Phylloporus nigrisquamus, representing first report from India. Their detailed descriptions, illustrations, phylogenetic inferences, and comprehensive comparisons with corresponding similar taxa are also discussed.
