New and Noteworthy Records of Buellia Species (Lichenized Fungi) from the Southern Western Ghats, India
摘要
Abstract
Three interesting species of Buellia were identified while examining lichens from Kerala, India. Buellia ghattensis, a saxicolous species is described from Mathikettan Shola National Park, Kerala, India as new to science. The new species is morphologically similar to Buellia nashii but distinguished by the presence of brown coloured exciple lacking aeruginose pigment, non-pruinose thalli lacking calcium oxalate crystals, and the presence of atranorin. The detailed comparison with other allied species is also discussed. Buellia quartziana S.R. Singh and D.D. Awasthi and Buellia erubescens Arnold, previously known from other Indian states, are recorded from Kerala for the first time.
