Phlegmacium balteatocumatile (Cortinariaceae), a New Record from Coniferous Forests of Kashmir Himalaya, India

During a routine macrofungal survey in various regions of Kashmir Himalayas, we collected specimens of Phlegmacium. After a detailed literature review, coupled with morphological examinations and molecular phylogenetic analysis, the species was found to be conspecific with Phlegmacium balteatocumatile, which was originally described from Europe. We hereby report P. balteatocumatile as a new record from India, providing a comprehensive account with detailed morphological description, illustrations, nrITS based phylogenetic analysis and comparisons with related species.
