Abstract

Various similarity operations used in intelligent JSM systems that solve forensic problems are described. With two approaches to define a similarity operation, viz. through local and global similarity, one can solve conceptually different problems on the same fact base. For the problem of signature analysis involving psychological data, a new similarity operation is introduced, taking into account the transition to a new data structure that allows minimizing the expert data subjectivity. JSM reasoning and JSM research in problems with local and global similarity are compared.
