Abstract
The task of automating the process of quality inspection of the fit of a small gear onto the shaft of a locomotive traction motor during the assembly of wheel-motor units by applying axial force during repair work is addressed. The necessity of automating this quality inspection process for the fit of a small gear onto the shaft of a locomotive traction motor is substantiated. A description of an automation system for measuring and recording for this inspection is provided, and its main functions are reviewed. The control program for the information-recording complex of the automated quality inspection device is described, and its operational algorithm is presented.
