Mathematical Model of an Axial-Flow Compressor with Separation of Abrasive Particles
摘要
The issues of operation of axial-flow gas turbine engine compressors in aggressive climatic and geographical conditions and of the erosive wear characteristic of these conditions, leading to deterioration of the characteristics of the entire engine as a whole, are considered. The necessity of using a new method for preventing erosive wear of axial-flow compressors, based on the abrasive particle separation, is substantiated. A mathematical model of an axial-flow compressor with abrasive particles separation is developed based on the basic Navier–Stokes equations used in computational fluid dynamics with the k–ω SST turbulence model (Menter model), supplemented by a discrete-phase motion model. The results of modeling the main gas-dynamic characteristics of an axial-flow compressor with separation of abrasive particles are presented, making it possible to determine the effect of this separation on the characteristics of axial-flow compressors.
