Excitation of Microseismic Range Oscillations during Passing of Tropical Cyclones
摘要
Abstract
The excitation features of microseismic range oscillations generated by the passing tropical cyclones have been revealed based on the experimental data from laser strainmeters and a supersensitive detector of hydrosphere pressure variations. When the cyclones pass over the Korean Peninsula, powerful oscillations occur with a period ranging from 16 to 20 s. They are recorded by laser strainmeters installed at the Cape Schultz. The absence of oscillations with such periods in the records obtained by means of a supersensitive detector of hydrosphere pressure variations, installed on the seabed near the Cape Schultz, is indicative of a local source of these microseismic range oscillations related to the Korean Peninsula.
