On Shear Stiffness Providing Stability of Anomalously Stratified Geomass of Compressible Material

Abstract
Within the framework of previously suggested method of investigating the character of development of instability of anomalously stratified viscoelastic geomasses basing on investigating stability and instability of anomalously stratified elastic comparison systems, the sufficient stability conditions under the presence of compressibility of geomaterial are studied. The rigorous bounds for the value of shear stiffness that provides stability depending on the extent of anomality of stratification (with regard for compressibility) and the sizes of a domain occupied by the geomass, are obtained. The obtained bounds are compared with real values of the parameters of geomasses of the upper layers of the Earth.
