摘要

Abstract

The study is mostly focused on lagoons, which are located on coastal accumulative forms of the Sea of Azov. Their existence is primarily caused by intensity of storm surges and the presence or absence of a stable connection with the sea. The chemical composition and salinity of lagoon waters depend on the presence or absence of a stable connection to the sea, as well as the groundwater inflow. Seafloor communities are dominated by marine species native to the Sea of Azov and Black Sea. The largest taxonomic diversity is typical for isolated lagoons. Hydromorphic solonchaks form in periodically drained lagoon areas.
