Abstract <p>This work reports on the first results of U–Pb geochronological studies of xenotime from argillites from the Segozero structure (Jatuli superhorizon, Yangozero formation). The age of xenotime is 1751 ± 5 Ma, indicating that it has been formed not at the stage of diagenesis of rocks, but as a result of the alteration process associated, most likely, with intensive fluid reworking of rocks of the Segozero structure at the final stage of the svecofennian orogeny.</p>
