Beltir Earthquake, February 15, 2025 (Ms = 5.7, Altai Mountains): Results of Geological and Seismological Research in the Nearby Zone
摘要
An epicenter expedition was organized to the Altai Mountains by the Institute of Physics of the Earth RAS, to study the consequences of and conditions for the Beltir earthquake. The tremors in populated areas reached 6–7 in intensity. Overall there was minor damage to buildings, furniture, and other household items; some people experienced fright and poor health. There were secondary effects in the epicentral zone. They formed a compact area covering different geological and geomorphological conditions. The intensity in the epicentral area was 7. The seismic source is a locally activated structure manifested on the surface by an arch-shaped anticlinal fold measuring approximately 2.6 × 4.5 km.
