Lithological Composition of Bottom Sediments in the Area of Fluid Discharge in the Kara Sea
摘要
Abstract
The results of the lithological and geochemical analysis of bottom sediments collected in the southwestern part of the Kara shelf in the area of development of gas-saturated deposits in a paleovalley at a depth of 112 m are presented. It has been established that the accumulation of the Holocene marine sediments occurred under conditions of fluid inflow as a result of degradation of permafrost and destruction of its gas hydrates, which are apparently suppliers of isotopically heavy waters to the studied strata.
