Abstract

In the development of theoretical foundations of surface-wave seismoacoustic methods of non-destructive control of layered geophysical media, the field of applicability of previously proposed analytical approach based on the conservation of energy flow [9] is studied for the estimation of amplitudes of surface waves in layered-inhomogeneous media with smooth horizontal change in elastic parameters. The results of the comparison of analytical and numerical solutions are presented, the dependencies of discrepancy and geometric modeling parameters and contrasts of elastic parameters are studied, and the conditions of applicability of the analytical approach are estimated in respect with practically significant tasks, which are solved using a family of surface-wave seismic exploration methods.
