Abstract <p>The influence of solitary external centers of action with disturbances of the velocity field in the form of a vortex or dipole is simulated in experiments in a rotating channel with an inclined bottom. If the disturbance intensity thresholds are exceeded, it is possible to change the number of cyclones and anticyclones throughout the channel and the angular velocity of their movement.</p>
