Abstract <p>The morphology and geochemistry of native ore gold from quartz veins occurring in the Neoproterozoic rocks of the Kainar Formation were studied for the first time. This formation occurs in the Kumystin ore field, in the axial structural–formation zone of the central part of the Bolshoi Karatau Ridge. Native gold contains inclusions of bismuth minerals. The fineness of native gold is 858–956‰. The stable association of Bi–Te–Cu–Pb–S in native gold and the internal structure of individuals of this mineral together with geological data allow us to suggest that gold mineralization belongs to the low-sulfide gold–quartz type and is genetically connected with injection of small granite intrusions.</p>
