Light Absorption in Quantum Narrowing in a Longitudinal Magnetic Field

Abstract
In this study, the optical properties of a micro-narrowing in a longitudinal magnetic field are investigated. As a model for the confinement potential of the micro-narrowing, a “soft wall” potential is used. The dependence of the light absorption coefficient in a micro-narrowing on the strength of the external magnetic field has been studied. The limiting transition from “micro-narrowing → quantum wire” is considered.
