Antiwear Сharacteristics of the Surface of a Steel-to-Steel Friction Pair in Carboxylic Acid-Modified Lubricants
摘要
Abstract
Antiwear characteristics of the surface of a steel-steel friction pair on a four-ball friction machine in a base (Vaseline) oil modified with monobasic carboxylic acids of the formic–caproic series were studied. A positive tendency to reduce wear during friction of the steel-steel pair in the acid series from formic to caproic was established. A decrease in the diameter of the wear scar during friction in a lubricating composition with the addition of caproic acid by 30% was determined in comparison with the base oil.
