Regional Algorithms for Chlorophyll Concentration Estimation in the Kara Sea from MODIS Ocean Color Data
摘要
This work is devoted to the development of new regional algorithms for chlorophyll concentration estimating in the Kara Sea from MODIS data. For this purpose, data of shipboard measurements of chlorophyll concentration during 10 research cruises in 2009–2022 were used. To develop and evaluate the accuracy of the obtained formulae, two sets of satellite data were formed: with a time difference between satellite and field measurements of less than 5 and 24 h. The paper analyzes the application of two color indices for 488, 531, and 547 nm spectral channels. For the first time, it was proposed to use different algorithms for summer and autumn seasons. The suggested algorithms are to enable improving the quality of monitoring the Kara Sea ecosystem and solving operational problems when planning field measurements.
