Abstract <p>Transcribed regulatory elements (enhancers, promoters) represent a critical component in applied livestock genomics. Despite advances in genomic selection technologies (GWAS, CRISPR), incomplete annotation of noncoding genome regions remains a significant limitation. This study focuses on methods of direct analysis of transcriptional activity (CAGE-seq) that enable precise identification of regulatory elements and their association with phenotypic traits. Key research directions are examined, including epigenetic mechanisms (FarmEpiMap project), quantum computing applications for big data analysis, and development of tailored solutions for diverse livestock populations. The importance of international initiatives (FAANG consortium) is emphasized while highlighting the need to account for regional genetic specificities.</p>
