The Complete Chloroplast Genome Sequence of Corydalis pallida (Thunb.) Pers.

Corydalis pallida, a perennial herbaceous plant, belongs to the family Papaveraceae and holds significant medicinal and horticultural ornamental value. The taxonomic classification of C. pallida has been a subject of debate over the years. In this study, we utilized the GenoLab M platform to sequence, assemble, and analyze the complete chloroplast genome of C. pallida for the first time. The genome spans 197 687 bp in length, comprising a large single-copy region (LSC, 97 361 bp), a small single-copy region (SSC, 10 396 bp), and a pair of inverted repeat (IR, 44 965 bp) sequences. In total, our analysis predicted and annotated 137 genes, including 91 protein-coding genes, 38 tRNA-coding genes, and eight rRNA-coding genes. Phylogenetic analysis results reveal that C. pallida shares a close relationship with the subgenus Sophorocapnos within the Corydalis genus. This research enhances our understanding of the classification and evolution of Corydalis species from a plant molecular biology perspective.
