Abstract <p>The study aims to identify features of the evolution of the ideas of neo-reaction (NRx) and determine the substantive foundation of neo-reactionary concepts in other ideological dimensions. The topic merits attention due to the relative dearth of available research and insufficient analytical completeness of existing assessments of this ideological trend in academic literature. The key sources analyzed in the study are “A Formalist Manifesto” by the American right-wing theorist Curtis Yarvin, which became an important driver in the development of the new ideological structure, and “The Dark Enlightenment” and “Cybergothic” by the British philosopher Nick Land, which exemplify the features of the second stage of the development of neo-reactionary thought. The study investigates the interrelation of the ideas of neo-reaction with other ideological trends. The analysis is based on J. Lotman’s model of the semiosphere and relies on the principles of critical discourse analysis of academic texts. Substantive stages of the evolution of NRx ideas are identified, and the thesis of the presence of substantive differences between Yarvin and Land’s ideas is postulated. The study additionally concludes that modern neo-reaction contains core and peripheral ideas. Special attention is given to the accelerationist and techno-deterministic component of the ideological base of neo-reaction, which is actualized in the context of modern technological transformations.</p>
