Abstract <p>July 21, 2024, will carve out a place in the political history of the United States: President Joe Biden abandoned the presidential race for a second term and proposed Vice President Kamala Harris to replace him on the list of candidates. The drama of the situation was fueled by the pressing inevitability of a change of candidate in the midst of the campaign since Biden had suffered a fiasco in his “first” battle with the Republican opponent; in addition, his advanced age also hindered his chances. Overnight, Harris received a chance to become the front-runner in her party’s nomination. Academician G. A.&#xa0;Arbatov wrote: “Politics is a resultant force that consists of many applied forces and factors” [12]. It was in this vein that the events of the 2024 presidential elections developed, in which the intrigue of the winner remained until the very end.</p>
