Conservation of Paper-Based Cultural Heritage Objects Affected by Severe Water Exposure: Experience of the Grabar Art Conservation Center

Abstract
This article summarizes the practical experience of conservators at the Grabar Art Conservation Center in the conservation and restoration of paper-based cultural heritage objects damaged by water. Particular attention is given to the individualized approach to selecting drying methods for the objects. Techniques for separating cemented sheets are analyzed. A conservation method for underwater archaeological paper objects is proposed.
