First Evidence of High-Pressure Metamorphism in the Western Flank of the Belomorian Province, Late Paleoproterozoic Lapland–Kola Orogen
摘要
Abstract
An overprinted high-pressure metamorphic mineral assemblage (Opx + Bt + Grt) is found for the first time in an Early Paleoproterozoic gabbronorite dike in the western flank of the Belomorian province. The peak metamorphic conditions (a pressure of 12–15 kbar and temperature of 700–750°C) were estimated using multiequilibrium thermobarometry. This high-pressure metamorphism was related to the Late Paleoproterozoic Lapland–Kola collision.
